Please do not bore your classmates with a PowerPoint-less or Prezi presentation filled with too much text, silly clip art, and no white space.

Use the school's presentation guidelines. Your oral presentation will be graded on how well you adhere to the five areas of these guidelines.

Tips for PowerPoint and Prezi Presentations

Modified from Seth Godin's blog (Permission granted, 4/11/08.)

Bullets Are For the NRA!

Here are the five rules you need to remember to create amazing Powerpoint presentations:

a. No more than six words on a slide. EVER. There is no presentation so complex that this rule needs to be broken. (A suggestion only. For the Latin author presentation, you may need a few more words, but not many more!)

b. No cheesy images. Use professional stock photo images or those you create yourself.

c. Sound effects can be used a few times per presentation, but never use the sound effects that are built in to the program. Instead, rip sounds and music from CDs and see what effect this can have.

d. Don’t hand out print-outs of your slides. They don’t work without you there.
